Around a hundred local volunteers are helping Gardaí and other local authorities in the search for a man reported missing from his home near Kenmare.

Local volunteers are helping Gardaí, the fire service, Kerry Civil Defence, Iveragh Coast Guard and Kerry Mountain Rescue in the search of the Carrig East area of Kenmare.

The Irish Coast Guard's Shannon-based helicopter Rescue 115 is currently surveilling the scene.
