70% of family carers in Kerry feel burnt out

70% of the 15,000 family carers in Kerry feel burnt out or emotionally overwhelmed.

That's according to to research conducted by Amárach for Lidl Ireland.

For National Carers Week the supermarket chain has partnered with Family Carers ireland for the "We Care Back" campaign, which supports family carers who provide vital, unpaid care to loved ones every day.

The findings of the resaerch show that among current family carers, 46% report feeling anxious, with 37% feeling frustrated and 33% fearful.

National Carers Week is taking place from today, June 9th to June 15th.
