There are 24 patients waiting on trolleys in University Hospital Kerry’s Emergency Department today.
That’s according to figures provided by the Irish Nurses and Midwives’ Organisation.
They show that nationally today, there are 466 waiting for a bed in hospitals.

University Hospital Galway is the most overcrowded with 59 waiting on trolleys, while there are 47 waiting for a bed in University Hospital Limerick.
