A Kerry TD says an incident where someone threatened to shoot him in the head is an extreme example of the abuse and threats politicians have to deal with.

35-year-old Cianán Doyle of Beechfield Road in Perrystown, Dublin 12 was ordered by a judge to make a contribution to the PARC road safety group after subjecting Michael Healy-Rae to a tirade of abuse.

Mr Doyle was a passenger in a car stopped in traffic beside the Independent TD’s car at the junction of Dolphin’s Barn and the South Circular Road in Dublin on December 4th 2018.
