The Irish Times journalist Ronan McGreevy talks about the IRA’s execution of ‘Old Tom’, a member of the Traveller community, described at the time as an ‘itinerant singer’, and James Kane, a fisheries protection officer, during the War of Independence. Both took place in Kerry. This week the paper produced a supplement called The Revolution Files which is also available online.
