Forest lose appeal against points deduction

Nottingham Forest have lost their appeal against a four-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.

The club were handed the punishment by an independent commission in March, having overspent by 40 million euro during a three-year period.

Forest remain 17th in the table, three points above the relegation zone, with two matches of the season remaining.

Despite being nominated for Championship manager of the season, Liam Rosenior has been sacked by Hull City.

Saturday’s 1-nil defeat to Plymouth meant Hull missed out on the playoffs by a single place.
