Voices of the Future

What matters most to young people in Kerry today? What are their hopes, concerns and ideas for the future? And how do they see the world around them? Voices of the Future in Kerry is an eight-part Radio Kerry series produced by Connie Broderick and Joe McGill, giving young people the opportunity to explore the issues that matter most to them. Working alongside the production team, each participant chose their own topic, identified and interviewed their own contributors, helped shape the narrative of their programme and narrated the final episode in their own voice. The result is a series that is informed, thoughtful and genuinely youth-led. Across eight episodes, listeners will hear young people exploring climate action, youth participation in politics, mental health, media literacy and the Irish language. Along the way, they interview community leaders, teachers, youth workers, government ministers, environmental advocates and fellow students, bringing fresh perspectives to issues that affect their generation every day.
