She will also serve as a member of the Listowel Municipal District. At the meeting she was also nominated to be a member of Kerry County Council’s Roads & Transportation Strategic Policy Committee. Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, Breandán Fitzgerald officially welcomed Cllr. Kennelly and led the expressions of good wishes from all the Councillors. Cllr. Kennelly’s co-option was proposed by her Fine Gael colleague, Bobby O’Connell and seconded by Fianna Fail Cllr. Norma Moriarty. Addressing the Council, Cllr. Kennelly said she was deeply honoured and that it was a source of immense pride to be co-opted onto the Council. Cllr. Kennelly said, ‘I am looking forward to working with every Councillor. Each Councillor bring a unique perspective and essential voice to the Council chamber, working together to forge solutions and meaningful change, to build a better future for Kerry to ensure that it remains a wonderful place to live and work and raise a family’. Works at Tarbert National School are expected to be completed in early December.

That’s according to Listowel Municipal District (MD) officials.

They were responding to a question from councillor Aoife Kennelly.

She told the MD meeting that start dates need to be adhered to, otherwise projects can be delayed for months.

Cllr Kennelly called for those responsible for the delays to be held accountable and penalised.
