Workers in Kerry had among the lowest average earnings in the nation last year.
That’s according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.
It shows that males and females in the county earned more than 11% below the national average.
The CSO report shows that the average earnings of people in employment nationally last year was €44,816.
The median annual earnings in Kerry in 2024 was 13% below the national average, with the county the fourth lowest earners nationwide.
On average people in the Kingdom earned €38,906 last year, just above Donegal, Monaghan and Longford.
The figures show a disparity in median annual earnings for employees in the county, with males earning over 17% more than females.
Women in Kerry had the second lowest earnings nationally in 2024, at €35,235, which was 11.9% below the median amount nationwide of €40,024.
Men in Kerry earned 12.9% below the national average last year, with a median figure of €42,550, below the national average for men of €48,897.
