This September was the wettest September at Valentia Observatory in nearly 20 years.
That’s according to Met Éireann’s Monthly Climate Statement for September 2025.
218mm of rain fell at Valentia Observatory in September; that’s the most since September 2006, and the equivalent of 168% of its 1991-2020 Long-Term Average (LTA).
In total, there were 23 wet days at the Kerry facility.
However, there were also more hours of sunshine than usual in the Kingdon with 112.4 hours of monthly sunshine at Valentia Observatory.
Seven days were classed as ‘dull’.
