Uisce Eireann extends Water Conservation Order to Kerry

All areas of the country including Kerry are facing a hosepipe ban from Friday.

Uisce Eireann is extending a Water Conservation Order nationwide because of continued pressure on supplies caused by the ongoing dry spell.

The ban on using hoses to water gardens, wash cars or fill paddling pools, lasts until August 26th at least.

Brian O'Leary from Uisce Eireann says its necessary to protect supply.
