Overnight water restrictions placed on parts of Kerry from 9pm tonight

Overnight water restrictions will be put in place in parts of Kerry tonight.

Uisce Éireann says the measures are necessary due to warm weather driving increased demand.

Customers in Kerry are being asked to conserve water as current demand means that supplies are being used faster than it can be treated.

They say that periods of high demand can lead to reduced water pressure and in some cases interruptions to availability.

Overnight restrictions will be in place from 9pm tonight until 7am tomorrow in the following locations:

Tralee Town in Monavalley, the Gallowsfield area along with Rock Street, Lower Oakpark, Kerin's Park and Caherslee, surrounding areas may experience lower water pressure or temporary disruptions to supply while the measures are in affect.

Restrictions are also in place for Aghadoe, Beaufort, Listry and Caragh Lake.

Uisce Éireann will continue to monitor water levels closely and adjust operations daily based on demand, usage and weather conditions.

A further operational assessment is scheduled for later this week.
