Uachtarán na hÉireann, Catherine Connolly was in Iveragh yesterday evening to open an annual festival celebrating the culture of the peninsula.
This is part of the President's first official visit to the county since she took office last November.

Earlier yesterday, President Connolly was in Ballybunion for the "What if we were Brilliant?" event organised by the Brilliant Ballybunion group, before going south to Iveragh for the launch of Éigse na Brídeoige.
Éigse na Brídeoige is a cultural festival which takes place every year during the first weekend in February.
Now in it's 33rd year, the 2026 iteration of the festival will celebrate poetry and poets, both in English and As Gaeilge.
The launch took place yesterday evening in St Crohan's Church, Caherdaniel, and the festival will be taking place all weekend.
Students from Caherdaniel National School were present to greet the President, forming a guard of honour and dressing up as the traditional Biddy and Capall.
