Two Kerry walkways have been named among the best family hikes in Ireland.
Carrauntoohil and the Great Blasket Island have been recognised for their family friendly walks in a newly released book, The 50 Best Family Hikes in Ireland.
Authors Mairead Furlong and Fergal McLoughlin note that “Carrauntoohil is a serious mountain day out,” and is best suited to more experienced hiking families.

In contrast the Great Blasket Island is ideal for a family with less experience, who still want an adventurous day out.
