Recently completed upgrade works on the Shannon Way Trail have been officially unveiled.
The opening was celebrated as part of Asdee Village Festival.
The works between Tullahinell and Larha were part of a broader initiative to enhance the trail from Ballybunion to Tarbert.
The project received €200,000 from the Embracing Ireland's Outdoors scheme in 2022.
Asdee Community Development Ltd hosted the formal opening, after which there was a community walk along the enhanced trail.
Chairperson of Asdee Community Development Ltd., John Kennedy, took the opportunity to thank the “volunteers from Asdee who took the initiative to upgrade a section of the trail, Kerry County Council for the investment and completing the fantastic works, and especially to the landowners as without their permission none of this is possible”.
He said “the Shannon Way is now better positioned than ever to serve our community and attract visitors to the area”.
