Trial of three people accused of murder of North Kerry man due to begin this week

The trial of three people accused of the murder of a man in North Kerry over two years ago is due to get underway this week.

Gerard Kennelly was found with fatal injuries in May 2024 in Knockanure village.

In the early hours of May 27th, 2024 Gerard Kennelly, a father-of-one aged in his 30s, was found with fatal injuries in Knockanure village.

Three people have been charged in relation to the case.

Kieran Brady, aged in his 30s, of Upper Athea, Limerick; Abigail Lynch, who is in her 20s, of Woodview Place, Tarbert; and Kane Hornyak, also aged in his 20s, of Doon Road, Ballybunion are accused of his murder.

All three are facing one single charge each; contained in the book of evidence; that each person murdered Gerard Kennelly in Knockanure on May 27th 2024, contrary to common law.

Their trail is due to begin this week at the Central Criminal Court which is sitting in Limerick.
