Tralee man holidaying in Bangkok feared for his life as earthquake tremors hit

A Tralee man, who is on holiday in Bangkok, feared he might die as tremors from an earthquake in Myanmar caused his hotel room to violently shake.

The 7.7 magnitude quake hit Myanmar and it also caused a building to collapse hundreds of miles away in Thailand.

Pat Donovan, who is originally from Marian Park, Tralee, is on holiday in Bangkok; he is due to fly home to Dublin, where he now lives, tomorrow.

His hotel room is on the 25th floor and he says the room began to violently shake.
