Over 900 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Listowel MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 910 applicants in the Listowel Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Listowel as one of their three areas of choice.
472 are awaiting one bed units; 254 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 153 are on the list for three-bed units.
27 applicants are awaiting four-bed houses, while four are on the list for five-bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 606 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently 23 vacant units in the Listowel MD; of these 14 are under repair and unallocated; seven dwellings are awaiting repairs; while two units are awaiting allocation.
