Almost 900 applicants are on the social housing waiting list in the Listowel MD area.
That’s according to figures provided at the recent Municipal District meeting.
Social housing units are sought by 892 applicants in the Listowel Municipal District.
That figure includes applicants who have indicated Listowel as one of their three areas of choice.
465 are awaiting one bed units; 251 applications have been made for two-bed homes; and 142 are on the list for three-bed units.
29 are awaiting four-bed houses in the Listowel MD, while five are on the list for five-bed homes.
Excluding transfers from other MD areas - 596 applicants are awaiting social housing within the Municipal District.
There are currently 26 vacant units in the Listowel MD; of these 20 dwellings are awaiting repairs; three are under repair and allocated; while three units are under repair and unallocated.
