A Tralee man accused of a violent knife attack has been sent forward to the Circuit Court to face the charges against him.
26-year-old Anthony Burke, of Arlington Lodge, Tralee, faces two charges arising from one incident last November.
Gardaí allege that Mr Burke carried out a violent and frenzied attack with a knife on another man, leaving that man with serious injuries.
That alleged attack happened at Arlington Lodge in Tralee town centre, on November 10th last.
Mr Burke faces two charges arising from this; one of assault causing serious harm to this other man, and one of producing a knife in the course of that dispute.
The court heard in April that the Director of Public Prosecutions directed Mr Burke face trial on indictment, or be sent forward on a signed guilty plea.
At Tralee District Court recently, Judge David Waters said the book of evidence had been served on Mr Burke, and he sent him forward to the present sittings of Tralee Circuit Court on the two charges against him in that book of evidence.
Mr Burke has been in custody since November, but has had the option to take up bail if he agrees to live outside Tralee.
His solicitor, Brendan Ahern, said there is an application before the High Court tomorrow to appeal his bail conditions.
Judge Waters remanded him in custody with consent to bail.
