Gardaí are advising of traffic management systems in place in Waterville today and tomorrow for the funeral of Mick O’Dwyer.
Significant traffic congestion is expected in the village and along the Ring of Kerry Road to Fitzgeralds Funeral Home this afternoon
Members of An Garda Síochána, Iveragh Coastguard and Waterville GAA club will be assisting in traffic management procedures.
Mick O' Dwyer is reposing at Fitzgerald’s Funeral Home, Waterville, this evening from 4 until 8pm, followed by removal to St Finian’s Church, Waterville, arriving at 8.30pm.
Traffic management systems will be in place from 2 o clock this afternoon, with motorists advised that a one way system will be in place on the Spunkane Road, from the village to the funeral home.
Traffic on the Cahersiveen side of Fitzgerald’s Funeral Home will be directed towards Waterville via the main Ring of Kerry Road.
Gardaí and stewards will be in place along the route to direct traffic and provide assistance to those in attendance.
Parking at the funeral home is reserved for elderly people and those who need assistance.

Meanwhile, people attending the funeral mass for Mick O'Dwyer tomorrow morning are being advised to avail of buses from Waterville village.
Micko's requiem mass takes place on Saturday morning at St Finian’s Church, Waterville at 11 o clock, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Traffic management systems will be in place between the village and the church, while special buses have been arranged between the two locations.
