The Maharees and Castlegregory onion basket has been shortlisted for a national heritage award.
The revival project is nominated for Intangible Cultural Heritage Award at the National Heritage Week Awards on October 17th.
The baskets are now part of the National Heritage Collection and promote sustainability by replacing plastic.

The Castlegregory Agricultural Show says they are proud to have played their part in the revival of this beautiful basket.
They also praised the local community, Maharees Heritage and Conservation, the heritage Council and Saille Baskets for all their hard work.
