Deputy Danny Healy-Rae has refused to comment on whether a man who pleaded guilty to voter fraud was an employee of Healy-Rae plant hire.

29-year-old David Moriarty of Kilmackerin, Cahersiveen, pleaded guilty to fraudulently putting in a ballot box, a paper other than he was authorised by law to put in, at a polling booth in Kenmare during last year’s local and European elections.

Senator Mike Kennelly referenced the case in the Seanad recently and raised concerns in relation to it.

Deputy Healy-Rae also refused to comment on the wider issue of election fraud as raised by Senator Kennelly.

When questioned on the matter by Jerry O'Sullivan on Kerry Today, the Independent TD gave this response:

Separately, Deputy Danny Healy-Rae says he’d like an apology from the Garda who appeared to push him in Dublin on Sunday before the All-Ireland final.

In videos widely shared on social media, the Kilgarvan TD was among Kerry and Donegal supporters when the alleged incident took place.

Deputy Healy-Rae has reiterated that he will not be making an official complaint about the officer.
