Deputy Danny Healy-Rae has confirmed that he will not be making an official complaint against a member of An Garda Síochána who appeared to push the Independent TD.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon in Dublin city, where Kerry and Donegal fans were gathered ahead of the All-Ireland football final in Croke Park.
In videos widely shared on social media the Kilgarvan deputy was among supporters when he encountered the Garda
Deputy Healy-Rae exchanged words with the garda after the alleged incident took place in full view of Kerry and Donegal supporters.
Having initially indicated that he would be making a complaint, Deputy Healy-Rae told Radio Kerry that on reflection he will not be doing so.
The Kerry TD said that while he cannot understand why the garda did what he did, he acknowledged that gardaí have a difficult job to do.
In a statement An Garda Síochána said they do not comment on what they term as unverified social media videos.
