The Fianna Fáil leader argued that history should unite rather than divide, and that O’Connell’s vision remains crucial in an era of global conflict and domestic division.
He concluded that the Liberator's legacy is not just national but universal, and called for more inclusivity in Irish identity.
Today is the second and final day of the Daniel O'Connell Summer School, which highlights the legacy of Daniel O’Connell nationally and internationally, and celebrates the rich traditions and folklore of O’Connell’s native South Kerry.
