Phase three of the Kerry Hospice Foundation day unit has been officially launched with the turning of the sod.
This next phase includes the addition of five new bed spaces to the existing inpatient unit, enhancing the care and comfort for patients and their families.
The ceremony was led by Kerry Hospice Foundation chairman Jack Shanahan and board member Billy O'Connor, while Kerry footballers David and Paudie Clifford turned the sod on the build.
There was also the official signing of the contract with contractors Ned O'Shea and Sons.

It is hoped that the unit will be completed by the end of 2026, and is expected to cost over €6 million.
Guests who attended included Minister Norma Foley, Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae, and Mayor of Tralee Terry O’Brien.
