Shannon Airport has hired eight new Airport Search Unit (ASU) officers.
The new ASU officers are trained in cabin baggage search techniques, manual handling, sunflower hidden disability awareness and more, and certified by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA).
Passenger demand is growing at Shannon Airport, with 56,000 people travelled through during the May bank holiday period.
The ASU team is tasked with supporting passengers through Shannon Airport’s three-dimensional screening system.
