Shannon Airport is celebrating a historic milestone with a time capsule project.

It marks 80 years since the first scheduled commercial transatlantic passenger flight landed at Shannon Airport by American Overseas Airline.

The public is invited to take part in the “Time, Sealed and Delivered” project by submitting stories, predictions for the next 80 years and items that reflect life in 2025.

The deadline for submissions is September 29th, with selected physical items required by October 10th.

A ceremony will take place in October were chosen contributors will be invited to attend the sealing of the capsule event.
