It’s hoped the Government will fund a bus service from Killarney to Mallow, taking in rural parts of Kerry, as there is demand for such a route.
That’s according to general manager of TFI Local Link Kerry Alan O'Connell.
He says a bus route from Killarney to Mallow, taking in Kilcummin, Gneeveguilla, and Rathmore, was designed two years ago.
However, that route hasn’t be able to start yet due to a lack of funding.
Alan O’Connell says Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien has indicated there’ll be additional funding for public transport next year.
