Seven Kerry food and drink businesses have been awarded Gold Membership of the Origin Green programme, in recognition of their enhanced sustainability efforts.
Dingle Distillery Ltd, Valentia Island Vermouth, Kush Seafarms Ltd, Kerry Dairy Ireland, Lee Strand Cooperative Creamery Ltd, Murphy's Ice Cream and All Real Nutrition received the honour.
Gold Membership is awarded to Origin Green verified companies if they make significant improvements in their sustainability target areas, such as raw material sourcing, water and energy efficiency, emissions, waste reductions, packaging, and social sustainability.
The Kerry companies are among 136 Irish food and drink companies that attained Origin Green Gold Membership this year, and were formally recognised at Bord Bia’s annual Origin Green Sustainability Seminar.
