A series of events will begin tomorrow and run until July 15th to celebrate National Play Day.
Kerry County Council’s Community Team and Kerry Library Service are organising the county wide events.
Activities will be held in libraries in Tralee, Killorglin, Caherciveen, Castleisland, Listowel, Dingle, Killarney and Kenmare.
These will include storytelling, nature talks and sensory workshops.
They're designed to ensure that children of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can enjoy meaningful and developmentally supportive play.
Kerry County Council Cathaoirleach Mikey Sheehy said that he hopes that National Play Day will allow children and their families the opportunity to discover all that their local library has to offer.
The Department of Children, Disability and Equality is funding the National Play Day programme.
The activities announced under the programme complement the Council's existing play provision for children.
