The second section of the South Kerry Greenway is opening to the public today.
The 4km stretch between Glenbeigh and Mountain stage will be accessible to walkers and cyclists from 2PM.
It follows the opening of over 3km of the greenway in December from the old Kells Railway Station to Golden’s Shop at Kells.
The long-awaited greenway will initially stretch 27km between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen, with around two thirds of that to be completed by the end of 2027.
The most complex section around Mountain Stage, which will feature the viaduct and tunnels, will be the last part to be completed, in 2029 or 2030.
