A scene at Carrig East outside Kenmare remains cordoned off this evening.
The services of the State Pathologist's Office were requested to attend Michael Gaine's farm at Carrig East, after the site was declared a crime scene.
Gardaí have been at the farm since the early hours of this morning, after a member of the public came across matter that could be human tissue, yesterday evening.
This morning Gardaí were seen moving between the farmyard and two nearby fields where slurry was spread yesterday, and evidence markers have since been placed in the fields.

The Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist who were expected at the scene this afternoon, will carry out tests to determine if the tissue found is human or animal.
Michael Gaine has been missing since March 21st, and the search was upgraded to a homicide investigation in April.
Gardaí have undertaken over 320 formal enquiries, taken almost 130 witness statements, recovered approximately 2,200 hours of CCTV and dash-cam footage and have conducted extensive searches over the past eight weeks.
In a statement issued this morning, Gardaí confirmed the area around Mr Gaine's farm has been declared a crime scene and a search operation has recommenced.
Pending further examinations by both the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist, Gardaí say they are not in a position to provide further information at this time.
