RNLI lifeboats brought 34 people to safety in Kerry last year.

The charity, which operates stations in Fenit and Valentia, launched 51 times in Kerry during 2020, with half of those carried out in the darkness.

With the busiest months ahead, the RNLI will run a fundraising campaign throughout May, asking people to support the Mayday Mile.

Fenit RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager Gerard O’Donnell says those taking part are helping to save lives at sea by supporting lifeboat crews.
