The Ring of Kerry road at Moll's Gap by the Avoca Shop has been closed to traffic following a collision.
Gardaí at Killarney say the road will be closed for several hours.
People travelling from Kenmare will need to divert via Killgarvan, while road users from Killarney via still be able to drive towards Sneem.

The incident involving a motorcyclist happened at around quarter to midday today.
Three units from Kenmare, Killarney and Sneem Fire Services are at the scene.
