Report that Samantha Cookes is subject to new Kerry garda investigation

The Irish Times has reported that Kerry gardaí have been investigating new allegations made against convicted serial fraudster Samantha Cookes.

Earlier this month, the 36-year-old English woman was jailed for three years at Tralee Circuit Court for social welfare fraud, totalling €60,000.

Samantha Cookes, who used several aliases, lived in the county for a number of years at addresses in Cahersiveen, Kenmare, and Tralee.

As Carrie Jade Williams, she presented herself as a terminally-ill author and disability activist.

The Irish Times says Kerry gardaí have been investigating new theft and fraud allegations made against her.
