The majority of homes in Kerry use heating oil as their main space heating fuel.
That’s according to the CSO’s Domestic Building Energy Report for the fourth quarter of 2025.
It shows 60% of over 40,000 (40,435) dwellings in the county rely on heating oil as their main heating source.
Electricity was the next most popular, accounting for 27%.
The report shows 8% of properties in Kerry use solid fuel to heat their homes.
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) (4%) and mains gas (1%) made up the remaining fuel types recorded.
