Rents in Kerry are more than 70% higher when compared to pre-pandemic rates.
That’s according to the Daft Rental Price Report for the second quarter of 2025.
According to the report, the average listed rent in Kerry is now €1512, up 72% from the average when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred.
That's an increase of 7.9% compared to the second quarter of 2024.
That's more than five times the rate of increase nationally, at 1.6%.
The latest index shows the average monthly rent for a one-bed apartment in the county is €978, up over 6% (6.8%) in the last year.
Rent for a two-bed home has risen by over 8% (8.2%) to €1,159 per month.
The average rent for a three-bed house has increased by over 7% (7.2%) to €1,350.
The rental rate for a four-bed home in Kerry was €1,552 per month, a 7.3% jump.
Meanwhile, the average monthly cost of renting a five-bed home in the county rose by exactly 11% to €1,664.
In Munster, the average monthly rate of renting a single or double or room is €521 and €591 respectively, an increase of up to 3 % compared to last year.
That's outside the cities, with prices of up to €725 for a room in Cork City centre, or €718 in Limerick City centre.
There were fewer than 300 homes available to rent in Munster on August 1st, down 9% on the same date last year and down over two thirds on the 2015-2019 average.
