Rental market in Kerry shrinking as landlords sell over incoming regulations

That’s according to Paul Stephenson, auctioneer with Sherry Fitzgerald Stephenson Crean.

He said many landlords feel new rental regulations are overbearing.

The new regulations come into effect on March 1st, and include rent caps of 2%, tenancy security of six years, and stricter rules on ending tenancies.

Paul Stephenson says this has consequences for the rental market, because most rentals being sold are bought by owner-occupiers.
