A public consultation has opened on plans for a new development at Ballybunion South Beach.
The proposed facility will include covered spaces, individual showers, changing cubicles and toilets.
It will also feature accessible changing and shower rooms, storage areas, public lockers, and outdoor showers.
New public realm works are planned, with paved areas, raised planters, seating, and two accessible ramps linking the facility to the beach and road.
Kerry County Council is inviting feedback on the proposal for a water-based activity facility at the site.
The plans are available to view from today (Wednesday, 15th October) until Friday, 14th November, on the Council’s website, the consultation portal, or at its offices in Listowel.
Submissions and observations are now being accepted, but must be received by 4pm on Friday, 28th November.
Members of the public can contact the Capital Development Unit (North) on 066 7183585.
Submissions can be made in writing, by email to cdunorth @ kerrycoco.ie, or online at consult.kerrycoco.ie.
The Council says the project does not require an Environmental Impact Assessment.
However, members of the public may ask An Coimisiún Pleanála to review this.
