The price of the average second-hand three-bed semi-detached home in Kerry has risen by 4% in the last three months.
That’s according to a survey by Real Estate Alliance, which found the cost of a second-hand three-bed in Kerry now stands at over €372,000.
The REA Average House Price Index shows the average price for a second-hand three-bed semi-detached home in Killarney this quarter rose by 2.5%.
This brings the Killarney price to €405,000 for the first time, while in Tralee prices rose 6.2% to €340,000, with homes selling in five weeks on average.
REA agents in Kerry, as well as in Carlow and Waterford reported that over 40% of their sales are attributed to landlords exiting the market in the past three months.
Donal Culloty of REA Coyne and Culloty, Killarney says there is a large increase in landlords selling due to the change in recent rent pressure zones legislation.
Nationally, the REA Average House Price Index found the actual selling price of a three-bed, semi-detached house across the country rose by 1.6% in the past three months to €353,458; this is a 9.1% overall rise annually.
