Businessman Gareth Sheridan, who is seeking a nomination to run in October's presidential election, will be in Kerry this week.
Mr Sheridan will be meeting some independent councillors as part of his bid to get four county councils to nominate him so that he can run as a candidate in the race
35 year old Terenure born businessman Gareth Sheridan announced that he was seeking to run for the Áras earlier this month.
Mr Sheridan set up health company Nutriband in the United States and he has stepped back from his involvement with the running of the company for the duration of his campaign.
He moved to Ireland with his family from the United States last year and has said that he wants to represent younger voters and represent their views.
Speaking earlier today Mr Sheridan said asking for support from independent councilors and that Fine Gael and Fianna Fail representatives would abstain in any votes on his nomination allowing him the chance to get on the ballot paper.
