Wait time for family law matters have increased in Tralee District and Circuit Courts.
That's according to the Courts Service Annual Report for 2025.
However there were some decreases for civil cases in the courts.
Tralee Circuit Court saw the wait times for family law matters rise 81% from 44 weeks in 2024 to 80 weeks in 2025.
The District Court saw waiting periods for guardianship rise 111%, jumping from nine weeks to 19.
A 57% growth in processing childcare applications took the period from seven weeks to 11.
The wait times for domestic violence cases grew from six weeks to eight.
Time lines for maintenance proceedings quickened from nine weeks to seven.
Average processing for civil applications in the District Court rose 17% from 17 weeks to 20.
However the Circuit Court cut timelines for civil trials from 30 weeks down to 24.
Civil appeals also fell from 28 to 24 weeks.
