Kerry County Council has received a planning application for a major new housing development in Killarney.
Dipharma Unlimited Company has applied for planning permission to build 259 new residential units in the town at Countess Road.
The proposed development consists of 103 two-storey houses, as well as 156 apartments.
The plans show that the houses will consist of three bedrooms, while the apartments will be a mix of one and two- bed units.
Planning is also being sought for a single-storey crèche on the site.
Proposed additional works include a 277 space car park, with 59 electric vehicle charging spaces, and provision of bicycle parking.
Vehicle access to the proposed development will be via one entrance from Countess Road (L3904), with the entrance design including a raised pedestrian crossing.
Kerry County Council is due to decide on the application by the 5th of August.
