People in Kerry are being encouraged to sample volunteering as part of National Volunteering Week.
That’s the call from Geraldine O’Sullivan, manager of the Kerry Volunteer Centre, as the weeklong celebration kicks off today.
It aims to amplify stories and triumphs by volunteers across the county, with events and seminars taking place.
According to Census 2022, over 55,000 people in the Kingdom engage in voluntary activities in their communities, with sporting activities the most popular form.
Ms O’Sullivan is encouraging people to try something new and outlines some of the benefits of volunteering.
