Over half of child car seats checked during an RSA event in Kerry were fitted incorrectly.
That’s according to figures provided by the council’s Road Safety Officer, Declan Keogh at a recent MD meeting.
In February the Road Safety Authority held three check it fits roadshows in the county - in Tralee, Killarney and Ballybunion.
It found that a fifth (20%) of the seats needed major adjustments due to safety critical issues, while 54% of seats were fitted incorrectly.
Mr Keogh advised that the service is due to return to Kerry in October, with locations to be confirmed.
