Over €90 million worth of agricultural land was sold in Kerry and Cork last year.
That’s according to the latest data from the CSO, which shows the average price per acre in the South West rose by over 11% in twelve months.
In 2024, 8,233 acres of agricultural land changed hands in the region, from 432 transaction.
The report shows the average price per acre in Kerry and Cork last year was €10,914.
The median price per acre of arable land was over €19,700 (€19,741); while the average cost per acre of permanent grassland in the region, was just under €10,500 (€10,487).
