The number of people signing on Kerry’s Live Register decreased by almost 10% in a year.
That’s according to figures compiled by the Central Statistics Office.
They show there were over 5,200 people signing on the Live Register in Kerry in September.
During September, 5,247 people in Kerry signed on the Live Register.
That’s a 7% decrease when compared to September last year, when 5,418 people signed on in Kerry.
It’s a 3% decrease when compare to the previous month; in August, 5,670 people signed on in the county.
Six of Kerry’s social welfare offices reported annual decreases.
Cahersiveen is down 45 to 320, while Dingle is down 32 to 232 and Kenmare is down 33 to 255.
Killarney’s figure stands at 816 after a drop of 31, while Listowel’s figure stands at 920 after a drop of 23 and in Tralee it dropped 25 to 2,323 for September.
Killorglin’s social welfare office saw an increase of 18 to 381.
