The official presidential election count for the Kerry constituency is expected to begin in the next hour at the Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre.
Over 90% of the boxes have now been opened, with the exception of boxes from polling stations at Milltown, Inch, and Camp
Tallies are now underway at the Listowel Boy's National School and Presentation Primary, as well as Dingle Convent
At this point, this is how votes are tallying, according to the Catherine Connolly campaign team in Kerry.
- Independent Catherine Connolly, at 62.81%,
- Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys, at 29.68%
- while tallies for withdrawn Fianna Fáil candidate Jim Gavin, put him at 7.51%
According to the tallies so far, it's estimated that around 13% of the votes are spoiled votes.
Voter turnout is estimated to be around 40%, with no less than 24% reported at any polling station.
