There are more than 850 social housing tenancies within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD.
That’s according to figures provided to members at the recent municipal district meeting.
Four hundred and fifty five of the tenancies are within the Corca Dhuibhne area, with local authority housing here accounting for over 71% in West Kerry.
Fifteen per cent of units in the area are HAP (housing assistance payment) tenancies, while RAS (7%), and leasing (5%) tenancies comprise the remainder.
Just under 400 (398) tenancies are within the Castleisland area while more than three quarters of these are local authority housing (305).
Thirty-three homes in this area are HAP tenancies, 22 are rental accommodation scheme (RAS), while 16 are under leasing.
